Humboldt, TN
HRH Wineries makes the move to solar with the installation of a 16.8kW PV system at their facility by Argand. As one of the largest, private installations in TN and the largest for a TN winery, the system will produce an estimated 22,543kWh of electricity per year that will be sold back to the TVA through the TVA Green Switch Program to offset HRH Winery operation costs and eliminate 15.30 tons of CO2 emissions. The PV system, designed and installed by Argand, consists of 78 Sharp 216W modules, 3 SMA Sunnyboy 6000W inverters and a Sunnyboy Web Box monitoring system. Due to the location of the winery and the renewable energy system type, the project was able to apply for the USDA 9006 Renewable Energy Grant (approval is pending) in addition to qualifying for a federal tax credit (30% of total costs with no cap).

Across the Cooper River in Charleston, SC, at the far end of Blackbaud Stadium, Andrew
Bell squints at 60 new solar panels Argand crews put up the day before. "We
live in a sunny place," says Bell, director of public relations and
marketing for the Charleston Battery soccer team. "Why not have the sun
beat down on solar panels?" Argand recently installed a 10.8kW, grid-tied photovoltaic (PV) system that includes 60 Evergreen 180W panels. The panels are pole mounted with each array consisting of 12 panels mounted on each pole. The system uses a Solectria 13kW inverter. CO2 reduction from the system is estimated at 7.5 tons.
